چکیده

In the laser cladding process, control of process parameters and knowledge characteristics materials used are essential for obtaining depositions with excellent metallurgical union, satisfactory dilution values, absence defects, acceptable geometric characteristics. Without such precautions, can exhibit low or excess dilution, wettability, presence pores, consequently reducing performance materials. The aim present work was to evaluate effects beam power, maximum power 4000 W continuous wave mode, scanning speed in processes employing AISI 316L austenitic stainless steel 431 martensitic steel, considering characteristics, structural defects depositions. It found that had a greater effect on width depositions, while influenced deposition height. presented values between 9 25%, using settings 1400 1600 W. required higher 1900 2600 achieve 15 41%. existence pores hardness were observed both materials, average microhardness 522 HV0.5/15 356 also different addition metals, their morphology, particle size distribution, flow rate, led significant changes features

Biomaterial Studies on AISI 316L Stainless Steel after Magnetoelectropolishing

The polarisation characteristics of the electropolishing process in a magnetic field (MEP – magnetoelectropolishing), in comparison with those obtained under standard/conventional process (EP) conditions, have been obtained. The occurrence of an EP plateau has been observed in view of the optimization of MEP process. Up-to-date stainless steel surface studies always indicated some amount of fre...

Micro abrasion-corrosion of AISI 316L stainless steel

In this study, the synergistic effects of abrasion and corrosion on AISI 316L stainless steel have been investigated using a micro-abrasion test rig. A series of results from abrasioncorrosion tests conducted using the micro-abrasion rig are presented. AISI 316L stainless steel has been studied under both pure abrasion and abrasion-corrosion conditions simulated by either distilled water or 3.5...

Formation of Surface Nano/Ultrafine Structure using Deep Rolling Process on the AISI 316L Stainless Steel

Austenitic stainless steels (ASSs) have an excellent corrosion resistance but relatively-low hardness and yield strength [1,2], leading to limited usage in applications that high values of hardness and wear resistance is necessary for material surface. Therefore, surface properties such as hardness must be improved using appropriate techniques. Mechanical surface treatments such as ultrasonic s...

Optimization of Operating Parameters for Autogenous Welding of AISI 316L Stainless Steel and Steel Using Pulsed Nd: YAG Laser

An attempt made to optimize the operating parameters involved in an autogenous pulsed Nd: YAG laser welding process of similar and dissimilar combinations of butt joint of 2 mm thick 316 L stainless steel and mild steel. Influence of prominent laser welding parameters such as average peak power, defocus position, spot position, and shielding gas were investigated for welded joints considered. T...
